Regular physical examinations are recommended to otherwise healthy individuals, as a means of maintaining good health. A complete check-up includes a historical evaluation of the patient’s current medical condition, a review of past medical history and family history, a complete physical examination by the physician, and appropriate laboratory or other ancillary tests. The scope and nature of the laboratory tests depends upon the patient’s age and any specific medical problems or risk factors that need to be evaluated. The recommendations of the American Cancer Society, American Heart Associations, Center for Disease Control, and other relevant medical organizations will be discussed and considered.
Please note that a complete check-up takes one hour to one hour and a half and that the patient should be fasting for eight to twelve hours before examination.
