Consultations > E. Malaria Consultation ONLY

Different  travelers need different levels of consultations. At the International Travelers Clinic, we offer a range of different levels of consultations so that any traveler is able to choose the most appropriate type of consultation for his/her trip. Please review all the following types of consultation and description of services before making an appointment. Charges and the time we allocate for your visit depends upon your selected options. Except for options A & B you may combine other options. If you have difficulty selecting the appropriate option or options you may contact the office for more information. Please note that for medico-legal reasons, we are unable to give any specific advice regarding vaccinations or pre-travel recommendations by telephone or fax.

After you choose the option or options most appropriate for you, please call the office for information regarding charges and appointments.

This includes:
  • Review of your itinerary and medical history (see International Travel Medical questionnaire available at INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS' CLINIC
  • General information regarding the type of malaria in the travel destination, its cause, symptoms and preventive measures will be given in detail (accompanied by printed material).
  • Instructions regarding personal protection measures, including the appropriate mosquito repellent for the skin and insecticide spray for the clothing and for the sleeping quarters, and if necessary mosquito nets. Printed material and name of the recommended products will be given.
  • Prescription will be given for the appropriate type of drug, exact dose, duration of treatment, possible side effects and drug interactions. (printed form)

Please note that prescribing of the anti-malaria medication without the full discussion of the above items is not standard of care and is considered malpractice.
