Great Things to Do in Anaheim Based on Your Interests

Are you looking for something to do in Anaheim besides spend the day at Disneyland? Whether you're a sports fan, an outdoor enthusiast, a food lover, or a family with kids, the good news is that you have plenty of great choices all around the Anaheim area. Here are a few fun ideas for four of the most common types of regional visitors.

1. Sports Fans

Anyone who loves sports will find plenty to keep them busy at any time of year in Anaheim. Stay at one of the many hotels near Anaheim Stadium where the whole family can partake of home games for the Angels baseball team as well as other seasonal events. You can even take an hour-long backstage tour throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

Right across the way and conveniently located to many hotels is the Honda Center, too. This indoor arena is home to the Anaheim Ducks hockey team but also hosts basketball, professional wrestling, and various sports-themed festivals.

2. Outdoor Aficionados

Love getting outside? Some visitors don't equate Southern California with hiking or nature walks, but many great options exist right alongside the cities and theme parks. In Anaheim, for instance, the Yorba Regional Park boasts a mile-long walk along four connected lakes with various local wildlife to enjoy.

You can also get a little more adventurous at Oak Canyon Nature Center. Hike the four miles of trails to learn more about Anaheim-area ecology and environments.

3. Foodies

Anaheim is a great place to explore your foodie pastime. Anaheim GardenWalk is a large district that houses several famous eateries like the House of Blues, where you can try popular foods, beverages, and desserts. Or visit the Anaheim Packing District to try local culinary treats within a unique California historic setting.

Breweries are big in Anaheim, and you can find prize-winning choices throughout the city. For example, right across from Anaheim Stadium are two exciting local brewers: the award-winning Karl Strauss Brewing Company and popular Golden Road Brewing. Book a nearby hotel and enjoy their ever-changing selection of regional beers.

4. Families with Kids

While the Disneyland Resort parks are the big draw for families, they aren't your only option. Drive over to Knott's Berry Farm and Soak City for more affordable fun with roller coasters, themed zones, and water rides to please everyone. The more regional Adventure City provides budget amusement park fun. Or give the kids a unique experience with an elaborate dinner and jousting at Medieval Times.

Ready to start planning your visit to Anaheim? No matter what your interests are, you'll find lots to keep the whole family busy without paying the high ticket prices of Disneyland Resort. Start by virtually touring hotels and attractions today in this vibrant area.
